Since its launch in 2007, Google Street View quickly spawned its own fine art genre. Depending on their method of interacting with the imagery, two types of Street View artists can be distinguished: scavengers and performance artists.
Scavengers scour through the Street View images in search of something that strikes them as interesting or noteworthy. They record their findings as screenshot or take photographs of the images on their screen.
I take a look at three practitioners of the practice in my new post on digitalsouls.com.
